Dulce María began her acting career when she made her first television appearance at the age of eight, in Plaza Sesamo, the Mexican version of Sesame Street. She also appeared in El Club de Gaby and Discovery Kids in the early days of her acting career. In 1996, she became a member of a musical group called Kids, which recorded some hit singles such as "La Mejor de Tus Sonrisas" and "Prende el Switch". Three years later, in 1999, she left the group to form one of her own with her former boyfriend Daniel Habif, but they quit before they could even record their first single. In 2000, Dulce María became a member of the Mexican pop group Jeans, having replaced former member Angie; in 2002 she left the band to act in the series Clase 406In 2004 she became part of RBD, a spin-off musical group from the Mexican series Rebelde, where Dulce María portrayed Roberta Pardo (Reverte). In her love life she has dated fellow group member Alfonso Herrera and Guillermo Ochoa, member and goalie of Club America (Mexico City based soccer team). There have been rumors that she has also dated other fellow groupmate Christopher Uckermann, though both have denied it. She is the favorite of numerous fans of both the novela Rebelde and pop group RBD. Dulce Maria has been compared to many gifted actresses from Mexico, one of which was Lucero. Dulce Maria has become extremely famous and is thought to have a bright and successful future in both acting and in the music industry. In 2004, after having joined the famous Mexican group, RBD, Dulce María's fame grew rapidly and was able to sign endorsement deals with Coca-Cola, Garnier, Kotex and cklass Shoe Ware. She is now touring with RBD and filming the sitcom, RBD: La Familia. She wrote and sang the lead vocals in the show's theme song, "Quiero Poder". In 2006, Espinoza stated that she has written a book of her most personal poems that will come out in 2007. Espinoza has stated that Anahi and Maite are her best friends and are like her sisters. She also considers Alfonso, Christian, and Christopher as her brothers and Pedro Damian her career father. She has been nicknamed 'Dul' and 'bebe' by her fellow group members.

Music: She started as a singer with Kids in which the songs "La Mejor De Tus Sonrisas" and "Prende El Switch" became known.

Later she joined the Jeans group, they promoted the album "Cuarto" from which the single "Entre Azul y Buenas Noches" came up.

Movies: She participated in a short film titled "Quimera" with Sherlyn. She also participated in a film named "Inesperado Amor" in which the subject of drugs was tackled and in which she shared credits with Anahí.
